The Project

Hill Tribes is located in the heartland of Southeast Asia in northern Thailand. There, people live in poverty and lack education. Life for the children is hard. Early in life they are taught to work in the fields to help support the family. Some youth must find work in the towns or cities while others are left at home to care for younger siblings. Parents often are addicted to drugs such as heroin, making them unable to care for the children themselves. God is leading us to do something for these people.

The goal of the Hill Tribe Project is to help care for orphans, stimulate economic development, and offer spiritual resources for the Hill Tribe area.  Warm Blankets hopes to reach this goal by building church orphan homes and training natives in the area to run them.

Construction on the first church home began at the end of year 2002.  The home is located outside of Chiang Mai, a large city near the location of many Hill Tribes. The first 15 Hill Tribe orphan girls were rescued in April 2003 and are living in a temporary shelter while the home is being completed.

Once the home is up and running, we will expand the outreach to three additional central hub sites. We plan to build more orphan homes each year into the future.

It is only with your help that Warm Blankets can build and support these homes.
